Playcalling

The playcalling in MyFS is broken down into two types: Basic and Advanced:

Basic Playcalling - In basic playcalling, you are given the opportunity to set the following options:
The style of offense you intend to run
The style of defense you intend to run
How close your team has to be to the opponent's goal before attempting a field goal on 4th down. (Note that this sitting should account for the yards tacked on from the line of scrimmage as well.)

Advanced Playcalling - Advanced playcalling is a little more complex. Here is a brief description of each of the elements on the Advanced Playcalling screen:

View:
This drop-down box lets you toggle between offensive and defensive playcalling screens.

Game Situation:
There are 5 "conditions" which comprise a "game situation": Clock, Down, YTG (Yards-To-Go), LOS (Line of Scrimmage), and Score. These drop-down boxes allow you to choose the game situation you would like to modify. Beside each of these drop-down boxes is a checkbox. These checkboxes allow you to apply playcalling configurations to mutiple game situations without having to manually configure each one. For example, if you want to apply the current playcalling configuration to all game situations, you would check all of the checkboxes, and then click on the "Save" button. Similarly, if you want to apply the current playcalling configuration to all clock situations and all score situations, you would check the "Clock" checkbox and the "Score" checkbox, and then click on the "Save" button.

Percentage of Run Plays Called (Offense):
In the event that you do not set up a called formation's "Play Percentages", this drop-down box lets you determine the percentage of run plays your team executes for the chosen game situation. For example, if you choose 20%, then whenever the chosen game situation occurs during the game, your team will have a 20% chance of calling a run play and an 80% chance of calling a pass play.

Percentage of Run-Stop Plays Called (Defense):
In the event that you do not set a called formation's "Play Percentages", this drop-down box lets you determine the percentage of run-stop plays your team executes for the chosen game situation. For example, if you choose 20%, then whenever the chosen game situation occurs during the game, your team will have a 20% chance of calling a run-stop play and an 80% chance of calling a pass-cover play.

Formation Percentages:
These drop-down boxes allow you to determine the percentage of formations your team uses to execute a play for the chosen game situation. For example, on offense, if you always want your team to call plays from "I Form-Normal", then you would set the percentage for "I Form-Normal" to 100%. Similarly, on defense, if you want to alternate between "3-4" and "4-3", then you would set the percentage for "3-4" to 50% and the percentage for "4-3" to 50%. Remember that if you setup your playcalling without setting up "Play Percentages" for the formations you intend to use, the simulator will choose a play based on your "Percentages of Run Plays Called" and "Percentages of Run-Stop Plays Called" settings for that particular situation.

Play Percentages:
These drop-down boxes allow you to determine the percentage of plays your team uses to execute a play for the chosen game situation for the given formation. For example, on offense, if you always want your team to call "I Form-Normal, HB Counter", then you would set the formation percentage for "I-Form-Normal" to 100%, and then set the "I Form-Normal, HB Counter" to 100%. Similarly, on defense, if you want to alternate between "3-4, Drop Zone" and "4-3 Normal, Safety Blitz", then you would set the percentage for "3-4" to 50% and "3-4, Drop Zone" to 100% and the percentage for "4-3 Normal" to 50% and "4-3 Normal, Safety Blitz" to 100%.
